Grooves on the stirrup tread interact perfectly with corresponding grooves on the SCS3 footwear sole. The SCS3 Quick Release stirrup iron looks and feels like a normal iron. However, a unique release mechanism has been discreetly integrated into its construction. A composite rubber tube forms part of the outer section of the stirrup iron. This opens or releases fully in the event of an accident. The rubber release tube is held in place by two lugs. The lower lug is the optimum length to support the outside of the foot and prevent accidental release of the mechanism. The stirrup is constructed from solid cast stainless steel. The stirrup has a 5 degree backward incline to help you achieve a ‘heels-down’ foot position. SCS3 Quick Release stirrup irons come with the treads.
The stirrup functions superbly, even with non-SCS3 footwear.
